Both this page and the previous, Kaylin is showing a lot more pained expressions and strained smiles than the norm for her. Dwelling on the topic of her recent near-death experience is probably still a fresh wound, compounded with a twinge of jealousy for Callum’s unexpected abundance. Her face conveys that pain and awkward, strained smile pretty well – even if we’re not used to seeing it.
Kaylin is also deliberately sidestepping telling Callum either her own low number or the reason for his high number – i.e. about Ellisia and her seeming fixation on him. I wonder if she’s still being pressured to not share certain things, or if she’s just choosing not to for the moment.
Anything you know about someone else and don’t tell them might come in useful later 😉
Seem to recall some gnome-like things in the original Goldenaxe game that you had to kick to get them to cough up potions in the interstacials…
