I forget: is that 2 counting UP, meaning how many times Kaylin’s respawned under the new rules, or counting DOWN how many times she has left before permadeath?

Counting down. The rule they decided on was, 1 respawn per favor. Kaylin earned herself 2 favors with Elli, one got used up for her respawn, and she got one from Kaala. Which implies that Callum has been unknowingly been doing favors for the gods for a long time, or they weren’t sure how many times to count and just decided on a number or figured out some way to make an estimate.

My vote is on Callum being helpful to Elli for so long she’s long count and just came up with a number that seemed “high enough” 😀

My money is on Elli being such a shotacon that she gave him a massive number to make sure he’ll never go away.

My vote is on each of Elli’s Inventions (the one’s that need to be allowed into the system to work) being considered to be worth at least 1 Divine Favor, potentially more if it’s especially valuable, and Elli’s now reaping the benefits of all of his technological advancements.

Yeahh, sounds like every time Callum created something and Ellisia did the work to make it ‘real’, the creation goddess counted it as a favor for adding to the world’s lore and tech base. Kid’s been grinding and didn’t even know it!

Kaylin’s look in that bottom panel is priceless! Don’t normally see her THAT shocked by anything. You can almost hear her mental screams – somewhere between ‘wtf’ and ‘It’s not FAIR!’ One of those times where you have to tell yourself repeatedly to not be jealous of someone else’s good fortune, but it’s REALLY hard…

Because it’s really hard to see the yellow 2 in the yellow circle on her sheet, I thought he was referencing Age, saying that he’s apparently 60 years older than her.

the words don’t match the pics

masterofinfinity479, please look at the backgrounds. Callum is inside a cream room, while Kaylin’s inside a cave.

A cave? Ouch… Calling an elven traditional home a cave. XD It’s a mix traditional carpentry building and elven magic to get trees to grow together into a space usable for living. So it was shown in the panel with Nyna in the previous comic in front of a door, and the interior here is the living space made from tree trunks. The blue color is – because its dark and storming outside and dark blue is a traditional color to depict that.

I WANTED to say that a hole in a tree big enough to be a cave is still a cave, but when I googled a definition for the word “cave”, it specified “inside a hill or cliff”. Also natural, but nobody’s paying attention to that.

As for me not noticing that they were going into a building on the last page, the dark tint of the timber, when combined with the shading, made even recognizing that they were in front of a door on the last page too much for my casual reading, let alone allowing it to be memorable enough for my comment on this page.

It is really hard to see the 2, with yellow text on a slightly different shade of yellow background. It might just be me, but please consider increasing the contrast to be more legible.
