Definitely feeling some ‘Adventurer envy” from Keilia here! Yunn’s truthful response COULD have been delivered with a little racial pride, in the sense of “We have an adventurer with us now; do you high elves have one? Nnooooo….?” But instead Yunn seems more concerned with Keilia’s freaking out – probably for “keeping the peace” reasons. I suspect Yunn may be overly used to needing to be defensive where the high elves are concerned, and isn’t used to actually having a ‘negotiating advantage’ on her side!
As for this ‘oracle’, the obvious guess would be Correndel followed through in telling his followers to “Stop being such prudes” – and if that message is delivered without any further context it won’t be clear what it MEANS, so Keilia may not believe Yunn’s answer… or that Correndel actually appeared where Yunn could talk to him, which would probably make this priestess even MORE jealous! Feels like he rarely shows up in person, and Keilia would be offended he talked to a dark elf instead of HER!
… Yeah it really is easy to see why this snooty priestess is a ‘fun’ character to draw! Her expressions are all over the place, lots of emotion shifts in this one page. Her personality and position makes it easy to dislike her and want to see her humbled in entertaining ways. And of course the ‘generous proportions’ that I can imagine she says are “a sign of the sun’s favor” or something like that… yeah, she’s fun. I think it’ll be interesting to see how her karma plays out here 😀
I don’t think it’s Adventurer Envy. I think it’s fear, along the lines of “Oh fuck someone who can actually punch us for acting the way we did towards the dark elves, actually has a spine, is also a dark elf and is DANGEROUS is actually HERE better shut up on that for a while.”
Like if a guy is racist towards asians for several months only for Jackie Chan to suddenly show up in their town.
I don’t know about fear either. Look at her in the other panels. Panel 2 can be read any number of ways, including “oh crap”, but then you get panel 4, which certainly does not read as afraid, and then transitions to a…I want to say “shy” poutiness in the final panel. Also note that there’s a persistent blush on her face that was not present on the last page.
Honestly, it kinda reads more “coquettish” to me rather than fearful or envious. She might actually have a bit of a celebrity crush on Kaylin.
I could see both your interpretation and Radagast’s interpretation – Keilia’s expressions here really are all over the place!
I think we can agree that on the previous page Keilia was indignant/haughty – feeling confident in her power and influence as she starts to pressure Yunn, which seems like a normal thing for her based on Yunn’s story. “Old adventurer friend” Kaylin is mentioned, and now we have panel 2 – blush added, and Keilia is either nervous/backpedaling or abruptly blushy/shy (or both?) – for “whatever” reason 🙂 Two panels later (panel 4) she has shifted to a manipulative “I’m not dangerous/wont you help me with my problem please” pose, and the last panel is indeed pouting as Radagast suggests – having to admit that she can’t do something, her pride partially breaking through the “please help me” from panel 4.
The blush doesn’t go away this whole page, so whatever feelings she has that are sparked by Kaylin’s reported presence don’t immediately fade. It could be shy desire, it could be fear/anger/frustration as she acts differently from how she started, could be a lot of things! I still like to think of it as “Adventurer Envy” though, because it suggests a ‘want/wish/jealousy’ on Keilia’s part – wishing Kaylin was more aligned with her/high elves/Correndel followers/etc for whatever reason, be it personal desire, social/political power, heroine worship/fangirling, or whatever else.
It also occurs to me that Kaylin is/was probably something of a celebrity here in a much broader sense… at least given how the world has ‘backfilled’ her character story and fleshed it out into history affecting multiple NPCs. And while the world ‘generally’ knows of adventurers and what they were like (vague memories of things they would say/do/etc), it’s unclear whether every unique player character left an impression on the world in the same manner. Kaylin may find that a LOT more elves here know her or know of her than she ‘remembers’, a whole reputation she may not be prepared for.
She is so repressed. She is “disrupted” by their worship and banned it as she couldn’t participate.

Maybe an oracle along the lines of “Stop ticking off my superior’s people and trying to take over, you idiots!” ?
Psst. You put an extra l in temple in panel 3
ah yes, telmple
Our high elf priestess seems about 1/8th tsun and 7/8ths dere at this point and the Ojou ringlets aren’t helping that appearance at ALL. I get the sneaking suspicion that she’s about to the point where the dark elves would about get to “would you like to joi-” before she interrupted by shouting yes and then babbling excuses to try to mask her enthusiasm.
That or the oracle somehow got so horribly garbled that she thinks she’s supposed to sleep with said dark elf adventurer and is thrown by being told to be intimate with someone she’s never met. I guess time will tell what comes when it comes but this is certainly an interesting change of pace from the rather combat heavy content of the previous arc.
Oh for the love of…just kiss you two already!
And there lies the problem with the oracle. It’s not Yunn she was making up with and kissing o///o
…you don’t want us to answer that. 😛
I kinda get the feeling she heard the oracle right, but just doesn’t want to admit it. Partly on how she’s used to Correndel communicating, and partly how she wants to control the dark elves. Corr may have also name dropped Kaylin.
The oracle may just say, “stop making problems and work on fitting in with the dark elves.”
Which she lets her imagination run wild with.
