For anyone who forgot, the time from when Yunn last saw Kaylin to the current time was over 300 years. Yunn is really starting to understand Kaylin’s perspective and how it must feel to be uprooted from not just your life, but your time, and how jarring it can be. On the plus side, for Yunn it makes it really clear that Kaylin didn’t abandon her and her friends, she was taken (effectively).

So… is Kaylin implying that she is forgetting who she was in the Real World as her Virtual Elf Identity is taking over and pushing out old memories? Or is she putting together a fake explanation to Yunn to try and keep the kayfabe roleplay facade going?
It’s been a thing since she got thrown into this- Kaylin is by far the dominate personality. The memories she has, span for actual hundreds of years, her 30 years as a human on earth- is a drop in the well of her life. One that is struggling to remain, with it’s screams of being real and important, but it’s not her current life, some things take precedence. That’s been the case from the beginning. There’s a reason the real world was shown mostly in grey scale for the start.
Jeez, poor… uh, human Kaylin. They really need to have more interactions with other players or something, or an NPC to trust to talk to. This is can’t really be good for her mental state, can it?
If i’m guessing correctly, she has a partial copy of the original player’s memories and a personality modelled after the player’s recorded in game personality, with lots of her memories auto generated from her written backstory for the character. Kind of how Jake’s mind gets copied into his avatar in the film. I would really like to know how much of her memories are the generated ones and how much are real from the actual playtime. I would guess, the generated ones are hundreds of years, around 30 years for the copied ones and a few for the actual online playtime before the event that landed her here. Still the most sparse are the copied ones as mostly only memories recalled during play seems to be copied or something along the lines, depending on how the player interface operated.
The main AIs that got her here could answer most questions though, at least tell her the timeline of the world from their perspective. That might not solve all mysteries though.
It sure is ! You grandma
oof
Humans have the same problem, mostly because we typically find ourselves dead come 100.
C’mon Yunn, hug the lady!
