And whatever you do, do not listen to Vogon poetry.
If you find yourself in a hopeless situation… (Ps i don’t remember the rest of that HG2G quote)
Maybe all of the players just went through a time skip without time actually passing IRL.
or maybe all the games reset to a universal clock that saw some games jump forward, backwards or side ways and all the npcs were effected as seen fit in game
Maybe how fast time goes is inversely proportional to processing load and PCs take about a billion times as much processing power as NPCs. Say one PC takes X processing load, then 1000 NPCs might take 0.000001X processing load and the world runs a million times faster than with a PC. Add Kaylin, and suddenly it takes 1.000001X processing (rounds to just 1X) so I it’s only at maybe 1000 times real world speed. Add Mike, and now it’s 2X processing time and the game’s only running 500 times faster than the outside world. Add 1000 PCs and the game will slow down to match the real world.
Note: Mike has it backwards. If the outside world is running slow, then the game is running fast.
Thanks for spotting and telling me about that error!
