“If we don’t dress nicely, Ruindar will be displeased! Also we might want to increase our elemental resistances…”

Kickstarter continues! If you want to get a copy of Vol 3 and wont be able to pick one up at Anthrocon this year, I highly recommend using Kickstarter to order one because It will likely be a while before I get the store fixed up to be able to sell the new volume and any old Volumes I still have access to!
Kickstarter link is the banner above the comic! Also- You can click on the text here.

Nothing against anyone here, but I kind of miss the days when men could unappologitally masculine without it being considered offensive. Reciently it seems all men have to be effeminate to be acceptable. Now i realize the author has a type, but still.

“Nothing against anyone here, but”, like many other phrases (“no offense, but”, “this might sound *phobic but”, etc.), is a good sign that the message shouldn’t be finished and sent.

It’s also an established part of the lore and world setting in this case that elven men are particularly feminine, as we saw with the other elves Kaylin encountered! It’s pretty much in line with how Elves get portrayed in many forms of fantasy; ancient, graceful, refined, slender/beautiful, etc. So while I can understand what you are trying to say, I don’t think portrayal of elves is the best way to measure that phenomenon. So don’t feel bad about enjoying Elzy looking pretty good with the long braided lavender hair, he enjoys it too! 🙂

Yeah, but there’s also the fact that guys in the real world wearing dresses is almost considered an invitation to be struck randomly by bigots. It’s only recently become a part of internet culture SPECIFICALLY where men can act feminine without it being considered… problematic, at best. From what I can tell, it still is, particularly in the parts of the USA.

Though, I do agree that, on the internet specifically, men acting too masculine being considered offensive is problematic in it’s own right. Recognising that both sides of the extreme are problems is important part to remember to vocalise.

Personally, I would love to see dresses in the menswear section of the local supermarkets. My thighs are HUGE and finding pants that fit both my thighs and waist is annoyingly difficult. Also, most menswear I find has a logo stamped on it, to the point where it’s on a lot of pants for some bizarre reason, while women’s clothing, and dresses specifically, almost never do. I’d also see it as a win for gender equity, not because it’s a sign that “men are becoming more feminine”, but, rather, because one of the visibly enforced gender barriers was removed.

Not sure where you got that idea from. Maybe double check to see if the personal who is “not allowed to be masculine” could be maybe also described as “toxic”. Are those people getting yelled at always angry? Always blaming someone else who looks different from them?

Pre-Incident Kaylin last saw “Little Elzy” as younger than a teenager. That was also the time Kaylin was giving her “juniors” free gear like those slime bodysuits. So it feels like Kaylin had fun playing dress-up with Little Elzy in cute player gear before – and it sounds like he still remembers those times fondly!

This also feels like a reference to how Kaylin can transmog her equipment so it looks like something else. This may have originally been done for streaming or roleplay purposes, but to Little Elzy at the time it likely just seemed like Kaylin had the ability to make her gear reflect her moods and will. An adventurer role model with eccentric tastes!

And yeah – Elzy definitely got lucky in the hair department, and likely has spent a lot of effort on it. I’d guess the fact it’s similar to Kaylin’s own shade is probably something he’s secretly proud of? Role model worship and all that 🙂
