Magical protection spells are varied and powerful. Some can negate a single attack, some can stop up to a certain amount of damage, some can prevent all attacks of a certain type. His original protection spell was a general one, reducing damage from all forms of attacks, Physical Barrier is a much stronger barrier that only works on Physical attacks. Ethereal Shift is a much more powerful anti-physical spell. Making physical attacks pass through the target as if they weren’t there.

hmm.. i guess not being a player he doesn’t know it is never a good idea for a mage to be in close quarter combat with a rogue…
He’s learning quickly. Too bad this is the entire mage dealing with the end line adventurer course.
Only stops physical damage… methinks this guy is about to get another lesson in Adventurers, high-level ones seldom go equipped with only one damage type.
and we know for a fact she can use magic items and probably has one or two for this.
He must think that weapons that deal none physical damage are very rare. Is he in for a big surprise!
Mage goes ethereal, gets punched in the face anyways. How is that fair? Well when you “cast fist” it is a spell.
Everybody alwasy thought Bigby was an idiot… oh how wrong they were….
Enemy: puts on an anti physical spell on
Kaylin: pulls out a magic weapon out of “thin air”
Enemy: Wait, this is illegal. *surprised Pikachu Face*
Given enough magic items, a rogue can pull off a pretty good imitation of a spellcaster…
and we don’t know what’s in her ‘armbands of holding’ 🙂
Well this will be amusing, but not for him.
and… we know she has fought entities, that negate physical attacks, and cannot be affected by non magical items..
and dude,, she knowingly went up against a caster,,, and sent her known caster away… o.0
now would be the time to cast (racial) darkness.. an mess him up..
She’s still got speed going for her, doesn’t she.
OOH. Rage. Punch him again. Punch him… a lot.
1st rule of adventurers…. always carry something to hit ethereal type foes.
What I’ve been noticing is that her punches have been trailing an interesting, inky effect. I don’t think she’s been hitting him with purely physical damage since the beginning…
That’s just an in game effect 😛
Her goal here isn’t actually victory in combat. It’s getting the child to safety.
She only needs to delay him, and he seems very willing to get delayed.
Very fair. Some games are just like that with higher level gear.
I hadn’t actually taken that into account!
